August 27 – Concacaf has just completed the latest of its Executive Mentorship Program (EMP) workshops in Trinidad and Tobago and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Launched in 2019 to as part of the One Concacaf programme brought in by president Victor Montagliani, the aim is to provide support and increase opportunity for all of the confederation’s 41 members through.
Workshops focused on governance, administration and leadership with sessions providing insights into best practices on the development of administrative capacities across the region.
The programme’s objective is to expand the skillsets and knowledge base of “off field” administration and governance issues, with a view to ensuring the sustainable growth of football in the region.
The workshops were led by Howard McIntosh, Concacaf Director of Member Services, alongside Horace Reid, Concacaf Director of Caribbean Member Associations Affairs, Anton Sealey, former President of the Bahamas Football Association, and David Sabir, General Secretary of the Bermuda Football Association.
“Good governance is the cornerstone of successful football organizations. It is crucial that the TTFA and SVGFF executive teams are equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to lead effectively and responsibly in their mission to grow the sport. The Executive Mentorship Program has become an integral part of our commitment to supporting Concacaf Member Associations in their efforts to elevate football,” said McIntosh.
Both Trinidad and Tobago and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have new federation presidents. TTFA president Kieron Edwards (pictured first row third from right) and SVGFF president Otashie Spring (centre, first row, below) were both present.
The TTFA is entering a new era of football governance and in many respects a complete rebuilding of its football infrastructure after more than two years under the management of a FIFA Normalisation Committee.
