Neymar’s camp denies ‘disrespectful’ reports of player offering himself to Barcelona

Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that former FC Barcelona superstar Neymar had offered himself to the club as he hoped to return to the Catalan capital.

Currently plying his trade with Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, it was claimed that the 32-year-old was eager to move back to Barcelona, seven years after he left the club.

However, it was further suggested that Barça new manager Hansi Flick had rejected the possibility as he did not wish to have Neymar as part of the squad.

Neymar’s entourage slams ‘disrespectful’ reports

However, late on Monday night, Neymar’s camp took to social media to deny those reports, slamming them as lies and disrespectful to both the player and his current employers, Al Hilal.

“Besides being a LIE, this article is a tremendous disrespect to the athlete and his club, Al-Hilal,” the statement from Neymar’s camp read.

Ever since he left Barcelona for PSG back in the summer of 2017, Neymar has been constantly linked with a return to the Catalan outfit.

In fact, it was believed that the Brazilian superstar was close to re-signing for Barcelona back in 2020, when the club offered PSG a sum of €110 million and a few players as part of the deal.

However, Les Parisiens held out for a fee of €130 million leading to the move collapsing.
