Barcelona’s Marc Bernal receives support from Real Madrid prodigy after ACL injury

Barcelona’s Marc Bernal receives support from Real Madrid prodigy after ACL injury

Not more than a few days ago, Marc Bernal was labelled by many as the ideal long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets at Barcelona.

The youngster, after all, was coming on the back of a stellar pre-season campaign under Hansi Flick, which translated into a couple of excellent performances in the opening two La Liga matches.

However, Bernal’s dreams of making the breakthrough at Barcelona this season were rocked up by a serious ACL injury during the third league game against Rayo Vallecano.

The La Masia youth product has been ruled out for the entirety of the campaign, which could hinder his growth.

Bernal’s injury has greatly impacted the morale of the Barcelona dressing room, but the player has received immense support from his teammates and fans alike.

Bernal receives support from Joan Martinez

Support has also come from rival club Real Madrid, with their very own youth prodigy Joan Martinez backing Marc Bernal.

Posting on his Instagram, Martinez shared a picture with Bernal, in which both are wearing the colours of the Spanish youth team.

“Cheer up, this is just a stone in our path,” Joan Martinez’s caption read, as he showed support for the Barcelona youngster.

It must be noted that Martinez himself is going through a similar situation as Bernal. The youngster too made a solid impression in the pre-season, with many even comparing him to the legendary Sergio Ramos.

However, Martinez’s hopes of making a breakthrough at Real Madrid this season were shattered after he picked up a serious injury.

That said, fans would expect both of these talented individuals to bounce back sooner rather than later.
