Former Newcastle United star Nobby Solano has been sacked as head coach of Blyth Spartans after failing to win any of his first six games in charge.
Solano, who made 233 appearances for the Magpies, took charge of the North East club back in May following their relegation from the National League North.
After what has been a pretty shocking summer window for the club, featuring a total lack of communication from the new owners, Blyth fans now fear Solano was nothing more than a publicity stunt – and it hasn’t taken long to fall apart.
During his short tenure, Blyth had failed to win any of their first six league games, drawing three and losing three, leaving them second bottom and in the relegation zone of the Northern Premier Division.
A tough one to take for the popular Peruvian, who has really struggled to nail down a coaching job in the last decade since retiring from football.
