According to The Mail, Paul Dummett is in talks to join Portsmouth after leaving Newcastle United earlier this summer.
Chief reporter Sami Mokbel reports that the Geordie defender could now swap St James’ Park for the South Coast, with the free agent in discussions to join former Mags Matt Ritchie and Elias Sorensen at Fratton Park.
Portsmouth sit 13th in the Championship after picking up three points from their opening three league games, with Sorensen scoring in his opening game; a chaotic 3-3 draw with Leeds two weeks ago.
Dummett had been with his boyhood club since the age of eight, where he graduated from our academy and worked his way up to the first-team, making his debut back in 2013 and going on to appear 213 times for the club.
Sheffield United had been linked with a move for Dummett earlier this month, but it seems he could be heading to Pompey on a free.
