Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah has become one of the key targets for FC Barcelona in the final two days of the summer transfer window.
The Catalans are eager to reinforce their backline after the injuries to Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, and Eric Garcia have left them light in the position.
Tah, whose contract with Leverkusen expires in 2025, has become a key target, with manager Hansi Flick said to have personally requested his signing.
In fact, Barcelona are believed to have already made an offer worth €20 million for the German centre-back, although Leverkusen want at least €30 million.
Tah’s agent opens up on situation
Now, Pini Zahavi, the agent of Jonathan Tah, has opened up on the defender’s situation, claiming that Leverkusen have received some offers for the defender but have rejected them.
While Zahavi, who also happens to be the agent of Hansi Flick and has a good relationship with Barcelona, did not confirm that the Catalans have made an offer, he stated that he hoped to secure the defender’s exit before the window closes.

“There have been several offers in recent weeks, all of which have been rejected despite his desire to leave,” said Zahavi, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“We want to avoid a player as deserving as Jona leaving the club for free next summer. That’s why we hope that we can find a solution in the short term that all parties can be happy with in the end,” he added.
It must be noted that Barcelona are not the only club interested in Zahavi as Bayern Munich have also been interested in signing the German international for quite some time.
Considering the position that Barcelona are in with regard to Financial Fair Play, any move will be complicated to pull off, more so with the Nike and Barça Vision deals not getting done in time.
So quite how the situation evolves with less than…
