Sandro Tonali’s week has just got even better following his return from a ban, with the Newcastle United midfielder recalled up to the Italy squad on Friday night.
The 24-year-old ended his 10-month spell on the sidelines with an impressive display at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday and is eligible to feature in Sunday’s Premier League clash with Spurs at St James’ Park.
After that comes the international break and his return to international action, where he’ll feature in Italy’s Nations League games against France and Israel next month.
Another boost for our £55m man and it may actually work well for the midfielder, who could benefit from some more competitive action before Premier League games at Wolves and Fulham in September.
He isn’t the only Mag who has received an international call-up this week, with Tino Livramento, Anthony Gordon and Nick Pope all selected in Lee Carsley’s England squad.
Bruno Guimaraes will also represent Brazil – sadly Joelinton missed out again – Miguel Almiron has been selected by Paraguay and Lewis Hall will be in England U21 action for the Young Lions.
