With the international break just around the corner, Spain have announced their squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures with as many as four Barcelona players being named on the list.
Spain, the current champions of Europe, are scheduled to take on Serbia (September 5) and Switzerland (September 8) in the UEFA Nations League.
And manager Luis de la Fuente has announced the squad list for the two matches with four Barcelona players getting a call-up.
Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo, who were two of Spain’s best performers at the Euros, have been included, along with midfield maestro Pedri. Ferran Torres also makes the cut.
Surprisingly, however, Pau Cubarsi has been left out of the squad by De la Fuente while Alejandro Balde, back to fitness after a lengthy stint on the sidelines, has also not been called up.
Fermin Lopez is another player who has been left out even though he was part of the Euro-winning squad and then won the Olympics gold medal.
Inigo Martinez and Eric Garcia have also not been considered for selection by the La Roja manager. Gavi, meanwhile, misses out as he is still recovering from his ACL injury.
