Sky Sports: Newcastle exit collapses, Ashby agrees move and £15m man could follow

After revealing that Ryan Fraser is closing in on a permanent move to Southampton, Sky Sports have now issued an update on Isaac Hayden, Jamal Lewis and Harrison Ashby.

Starting with Hayden, they report that 29-year-old was in talks to rejoin QPR but a proposed return to Loftus Road ‘fell through this morning.’ The former Arsenal man spent the second half of last season at QPR and still has two years left on his deal at St James’ Park.

However, it’s not all bad news for QPR as Sky Sports confirm that full-back Harrison Ashby is set to join the Championship side on a season-long loan after spending the 2023/24 campaign at Swansea.

Last but not least, they report that Jamal Lewis could also leave the club before tonight’s 11pm deadline. It’s not happened for the 26-year-old since his £15m move from Norwich four years ago and a move – ideally a permanent one – would make sense for all parties if possible now he’s out of contract next summer.

Elsewhere, it seems increasingly likely that Miguel Almiron and Kieran Trippier stay, but a goalkeeper could leave and the club are working on loan exits for a host of U21 talents.
