Spain manager heaps praise on Barcelona prodigy – ‘Made us more unpredictable’

Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez and Pedri won Euro 2024 earlier this year after a magical run with the Spanish National Team in Germany.

La Roja dominated the tournament like none other, tearing past oppositions and deservedly taking home the accolade. Notably, Barcelona’s latest signing Dani Olmo was the top scorer at the event.

The defending European Champions return to action next month as part of the UEFA Nations League and the team’s manager spoke elaborately to the media about the squad he chose for the event.

As part of the same interaction, he delved deep into the role of Barcelona’s superstar Lamine Yamal and the special connection he shared with Nico Williams.

“The connection between them is fantastic, they have provided great energy and dynamism, they have made us more unpredictable.”

“We have a very important potential in the bands that strengthens the development of the game in other plots of the field but we are very demanding,” he added.

De la Fuente did not stop his praise of the two youngsters there as he insisted that their best version was yet to come.

“They have a lot of room for improvement and the demand we set for them is higher. There is still a lot to see from these two players with much superior versions.”

The La Roja manager also gave his two cents on Dani Olmo’s homecoming and debut in La Liga and urged other Spanish players playing abroad to return back home as well.

“I am happy for Dani and I would love for footballers who play in other leagues to be in Spain because they would raise the level of our league.”
