Eddie Howe has revealed that the club will be trying to do business “right until the end” of tonight’s 11pm deadline, revealing that we’re also working on loan for “two or three” youngsters.
The Marc Guehi deal is officially dead after Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirmed he was staying, but it seems we are working on ins and outs over the final eight hours of the window.
Howe doesn’t name anyone in particular when discussing outgoings, although I’d imagine the likes of Harrison Ashby – who is expected to join QPR – Alex Murphy, Garang Kuol, Joe White and new recruit Miodrag Pivas may be looking for loan moves.
“I don’t think we’ll be closed right until the end…in both ways (ins and outs),” Howe said. “There may be one or two of the younger players going out on. We are looking for loans for two or three of those. So let’s see what happens in the last few hours.”
Asked if he’s expecting someone to arrive before the 11pm deadline, he added: “I don’t know if expecting [another signing] is the right word, but we are hopeful of course. Currently there is still time and there is still work going on to try and see what we can do in the last few hours of the window. So while there’s time is hope.”
Incomings seem unlikely at this late stage, but one to watch could be Burnley’s James Trafford, while opportunistic loan deals may also be looked at if the right player becomes available.
