Southampton have lost all three of their Premier League matches since earning promotion back into the top flight. They lost 1-0 against Newcastle on the opening day and followed that with defeats at home against Nottingham Forest and away at Brentford.
They have found the back of the net on just one occasion so far, and conceded five.
The Saints earned a short reprieve in the League Cup as they won 5-3 away at Cardiff.

Gavin Bazunu remains out and won’t play until 2025 at the earliest.
Kamaldeen and Sulemana and Ross Stewart are nearing return from injury, but Saturday will come to quickly for them to feature from the start.

Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, Victor Lindelöf and Luke Shaw are on the treatment table for United, but there is hope that Shaw and Lindelöf could return soon.
Bruno Fernandes suffered a knock while on international duty with Portugal, but he’ll be fine to start at St. Mary’s.
