Romano says Solanke could influence North London Derby

This weekend sees another edition of the North London Derby, a traditional Premier League fixture where no quarter is asked or given by both sides.

Tottenham vs Arsenal is the fiercest of local rivalries, and the chance to make a real name for yourself with a headline grabbing performance.

At this early stage of the season only bragging rights are at stake, but that can’t be underplayed – particularly as a Spurs win could see them leapfrog the Gunners.

North London Derby a big opportunity for Solanke

Arsenal are without Declan Rice after his sending off last time out, whilst it’s touch and go if captain, Martin Odegaard, makes the match after being injured on international duty.

Fabrizio Romano still believes Mikel Arteta’s side will shade proceedings despite that handicap.

“I see Arsenal as favourites in the North London Derby even with the injuries they’ve suffered in the recent weeks,” he told CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing.

“It’s gonna be an open game, and I’m sure Tottenham will compete very well, so it’s gonna be interesting.”

There are sure to be plenty of talking points to chew over once the game has concluded, and one of them could be the performance of Dominic Solanke.

The Tottenham striker should return after a two-game absence and has a chance to endear himself to the Lilywhites faithful.
