According to reports, Newcastle United are one of five Premier League clubs showing interest in Leeds ‘wonderkid’ Harry Gray.
The 15-year-old striker is the younger brother of Archie Gray; the Durham-born talent who swapped Leeds for Tottenham in a £25m move back in July.
A few months later, Graeme Bailey reports that Spurs are interested in signing his sibling, but his same piece for TBR states that Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are also ‘very keen’ on the youngster.
Gray junior is an England U16 international and only turns 16 next month, but has already been impressing in the U18 Premier League, scoring eight times in 11 appearances so far this season.
If these reports are true, we’ll face stiff competition to sign the teenage forward, although we’re developing a track record of recruiting exciting young English talents after beating Premier League rivals to the signatures of Trevan Sanusi, Leo Shahar and Alfie Harrison over the past year.
Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this year, older brother Archie Gray said: “He’s a good player, I don’t want to say too much. He’ll get big headed. If he keeps training hard I’m sure he’ll be doing what I’m doing. I’d love to play with him one day, it would be like Eddie and Frank again.”
