Former Newcastle man Andy Carroll is understood to have agreed terms with French club Bordeaux, who were recently stripped of their professional status and relegated to the fourth tier.
Carroll has been playing his football in France for over a year now having signed for Ligue 2 club Amiens last September, where he scored four goals in 28 league games.
Bordeaux’s head of recruitment, John Williams, was the man who orchestrated Carroll’s move to Amiens and it looks like he’s persuaded the former England international to join his new club.
The ex-Liverpool and West Ham striker will be linking up with another former Newcastle talent in Amadou Diallo who left the club this summer and very recently signed for the French outfit.
Carroll must be enjoying his time over in France and will be hoping to be part of a major project trying to get the historic club back to the top of the French divisions.
