‘I know I will not be here forever but I work like I will be’

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou says he will work as if he will be at the club forever.

The Australian became the first Spurs manager to last a full season in half a decade but has struggled so far in 2024-25.

He knows his time in charge won’t last forever, but that does not stop him from working towards long-term success in North London.

“Yeah, they had a cake for me,” Postecoglou joked about his longevity compared to recent predecessors. #

“I know I will not be here forever, but I work like I will be. Every decision I make is made off that backdrop.

“If you get caught in timeline scenarios, you make results that short-term might feel good, but long term you will not get to where you want.”

On the injury front, Postecoglou revealed that forward Wilson Odobert is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in the Carabao Cup win over Coventry.

“Wilson doesn’t look good,” Postecoglou admitted.

“Still waiting for it to settle down. He’ll definitely be out for the next period. Bissouma trained today so he should be available for tomorrow. Timo [Werner]is ok.”

The update was even less promising for Brazilian striker Richarlison, who is still a significant way off from returning to action.

“[Richarlison] is a fair way off. You’re better off not asking about him until I give an update because he’s not with the first team,” the Tottenham boss confirmed.

“My one follower is gutted about that!”🤣

Guess Ange Postecoglou won’t be returning to social media anytime soon🙋🏻‍♂️
