Liverpool boss Arne Slot is set to hand Federico Chiesa a first start when West Ham visit Anfield in the EFL Cup third round tomorrow night.
The Italy international made his Reds debut when coming off the bench in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth but he is likely to be named in the starting XI as Slot shuffles his pack for the clash with the Hammers.
Liverpool are the title holders and will be keen to maintain their strong start to the season under new boss Slot.
The Dutchman has made a positive impression so far at Liverpool, but the same cannot be said for West Ham’s Julen Lopetegui.
Boos rang round the London Stadium following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea and the Spaniard has plenty of work to do to win over the fanbase.
A win at Anfield would be a good start.
