Newcastle United have found a date and venue for our postponed cup tie with AFC Wimbledon.
NUFC Blog can exclusively reveal that Newcastle will host Wimbledon at St James’ Park in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday 1st October (7.45pm), with the fixture moved due to flooding issues at the Cherry Red Records Stadium overnight.
An official announcement is coming soon with more information to follow on tickets, especially for those who had planned to attend tomorrow’s game in the Capital.
Wimbledon were due to face Crewe next Tuesday in a League Two fixture, but with their current stadium in need of serious work following damage to the pitch and surrounding areas, the EFL look set to move that fixture to a later date and allow our third round tie to go ahead at St James’ Park.
With this date and venue change in mind, this is Newcastle’s updated schedule for the next two months:
Saturday 28th September: Newcastle v Man City – 12.30pm (TNT Sports)
Tuesday 1st October: Newcastle vs Wimbledon – 7.45pm
Saturday 5th October: Everton v Newcastle – 5.30pm (Sky Sports)
Saturday 19th October: Newcastle v Brighton – 3pm
Sunday 27th October: Chelsea v Newcastle – 2pm (Sky Sports)
Saturday 2nd November: Newcastle v Arsenal – 12.30pm (TNT Sports)
Sunday 10th November: Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle – 2pm (Sky Sports)
Monday 25th November: Newcastle v West Ham – 8pm (Sky Sports)
Saturday 30th November: Crystal Palace v Newcastle – 3pm
