Foxes favourites in the Cup

Leicester continue their League Cup campaign with a winnable away tie against League Two side Walsall this week.

The Foxes reached this stage after defeating Tranmere 4-0 in the last round, while Walsall beat Huddersfield in the Second Round.

Match Preview

Walsall Recent Form

Walsall have made a good start to the season in League Two and currently sit in third with 15 points taken from seven fixtures. From those seven, they have won five and lost two.

They have won their least two league games versus Bradford and Salford.

As well as the League Cup, they are still involved in the Football League Trophy after wins against Birmingham and Fulham U21s.

Walsall Injury News

Walsall have no fresh injury concerns from the weekend where manager Mat Sadler named an unchanged starting XI from the previous match. It will be up to him whether rotation is needed in the cup with so many games coming, with Rico Browne hoping to make his debut.

Leicester Recent Form

Leicester have found things tough upon their return to the Premier League after promotion and are one of six teams yet to taste victory so far this season.

From five fixtures, they have drawn three and lost two and are coming off two consecutive stalemates versus Crystal Palace and Everton.

They reached the Third Round of the League Cup after dispatching Tranmere at home.

Leicester Injury News

Patson Daka remains injured for Leicester, while Jamie Vardy was rested for the last cup game, so that could mean either Odsonne Edouard or Jordan Ayew featuring as the main striker.

Steve Cooper will likely rotate his squad from the weekend so expect the likes of Oliver Skipp, Abdul Fatawu, Facundo Buonanotte, Bobby Decordova-Reid, Luke Thomas, Ricardo Pereira and Danny Ward to be in line for starts.
