Friedkin Group agree takeover deal for Everton

Friedkin Group have reached an agreement to purchase Farhad Moshiri’s 94% majority stake in Everton.

In a public statement, a spokesperson said: “We are pleased to have reached an agreement to become custodians of this iconic football club.

“We are focused on securing the necessary approvals to complete the transaction.

“We look forward to providing stability to the club and sharing our vision for its future, including the completion of the new Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.”

The group had initially agreed in principle to acquire Moshiri’s stake back in June.

However, negotiations were paused after the parties failed to finalise terms.

Due diligence on Everton was completed when the Friedkin Group gained exclusivity in June, and any concerns about the £200 million loan provided by 777 Partners have since been put to bed.

In June, Friedkin had expressed interest in positioning both Roma and Everton at the core of a multi-club model.
