Federico Chiesa bags first Liverpool assist in unusual fashion

Summer signing Federico Chiesa secured his first Liverpool assist on Wednesday night to help his new team level their Carabao Cup tie with West Ham at Anfield.

Arne Slot’s team fell behind in the game after 21 minutes after some very poor defending in their box, which resulted in Jarell Quansah putting the ball into his own net.

The Hammers’ lead would not last long as four minutes later, the home side were level after Diogo Jota headed in the equaliser. Liverpool fans were delighted to see that Cheisa assisted the goal and it came in unorthodox fashion.

The Italian tried to score himself but his misfired shot made its way perfectly for Jota to score.

The new Liverpool man will not care how he assisted the Reds’ equaliser as he helped his team back into the tie.
