Liverpool’s defence embarrasses itself during West Ham opener

Liverpool fell behind in their Carabao Cup clash with West Ham on Wednesday night in embarrassing fashion as Jarell Quansah put the ball into his own net.

The Arne Slot’s team started the better of the two sides as a much-changed Reds starting 11 looked to continue their impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.

However, Liverpool would fall behind in the match after 21 minutes when Quansah knocked the ball into his own net following a corner. The Merseyside club’s defence failed to deal with the Hammers’ ball in and in the end, defended the situation embarrassingly as they comically tried to get rid of the ball

Wataru Endo kicked the ball off Quansah and it is defending that resulted in the goal doing the rounds on social media.
