A little over a year after he made his first-team breakthrough at FC Barcelona, Lamine Yamal is now regarded as one of the best young footballers across the globe.
Just 17 years old, the La Masia graduate has become an undisputed starter for club and country, delivering top-notch performances week in week out.
As such, it only makes sense for Barcelona to want to reward his meteoric rise with a new and improved contract.
Barcelona want to renew Yamal for a long period
Now, according to The Daily Briefing, Barcelona want to renew Lamine Yamal’s contract for a very long period and ensure that he spends the best years of his career at the club.
Yamal signed a new contract with Barça only last year, renewing until 2026. The youngster was only handed a three-year extension as it is the longest duration that they could offer considering he was still not 18 years old.
However, reports have suggested that the Blaugrana agreed to a pact with Yamal’s entourage and his agent Jorge Mendes to extend his contract until 2030 when he turns 18.

Barcelona sporting director Deco even admitted in a recent interview that the club were not worried about Yamal’s contract situation, hinting that the situation was taken care of.
“Lamine is under contract. After that, it’s all quiet at Barcelona,” he said.
When asked if it means that Barça do not foresee any problems with the situation, the former Portugal international replied: “Peace of mind.”
As reported a couple of months ago, despite the existence of the pact, Barcelona intend to negotiate fresh terms with Yamal and offer him a much-improved contract given his rise in stature.
As part of the new negotiations, the club could even propose an extension of the duration of the contract to go beyond the initially agreed-upon 2030.
