Pep Guardiola favourite is arrested in Madrid

So far so good for Pep Guardiola and his Man City side in the Premier League and Champions League.

With six games played domestically, the reigning champions sit just a point behind Liverpool in the English top-light, and haven’t conceded a goal in their two European games so far.

Knowing Guardiola, he still won’t be satisfied, and he’ll undoubtedly be eyeing the fixture list with a little trepidation given that one of his best players, Rodri, is reportedly going to be out for a long time.

Pep Guardiola won’t be happy with one Man City ace

A potential replacement for the midfielder has been revealed, though City already have a player that could do a job until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Someone that Guardiola himself once called “one of the best players in the world” according to MARCA.

Matheus Nunes has generally been considered as a rotation option to this point, and though transfermarkt note that he’s made 20 Premier League appearances in the last two seasons, it’s only been for a total of 674 minutes.

A perfect opportunity has presented itself for Nunes to show his importance to Guardiola and his team-mates, however, it looks like he’s blown it.

El Mundo have run a story which details that the player got himself arrested in Madrid earlier this month for stealing a mobile phone at a nightclub in Madrid.

Although he’s apparently been released, it isn’t clear what will happen next in a legal context.
