Paul Pogba’s four-your ban slashed and he could be back next year

Paul Pogba will be able to play again in March after his four-year ban from football for an anti-doping violation was reduced to 18 months following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Pogba, 31, was suspended in September 2023 after returning a positive sample for dehydroepiandrosterone following Juventus’ 3-0 win over Udinese on August 20.

A B sample in October confirmed the result and left Pogba facing an investigation from the National Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office, who requested the maximum sanction.

That sanction was upheld by the National Anti-Doping Tribunal, leaving Pogba “sad, shocked and heartbroken”. He took his case to CAS and it is now being reported the length of his ban has been slashed.

According to Mail Sport, the midfielder will be able to train with the Turin club in January and be eligible to play in Serie A two months later.
