Former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has shared his thoughts on which players he would sign if he were a coach.
Iniesta recently bid farewell to his illustrious playing career in a heartfelt event and as he embarks on this new chapter, he is preparing for his future in football, which includes obtaining his coaching license.
During a recent appearance, Iniesta was asked about the Barcelona players he would choose to sign for his future team.
Who would Iniesta sign?
His selections were intriguing, as they did not include some of the more obvious choices that many fans might expect, such as the young sensation Lamine Yamal.
Instead, Iniesta opted for a different set of players, each representing a key position on the field. “I would sign Pedri, Ter Stegen and Ansu Fati,” he said as quoted by SPORT.

Among these choices, Pedri is perhaps the least surprising pick. The young midfielder has displayed an exceptional level of skill and vision on the pitch, making him a player who closely resembles Iniesta’s own style of play.
His ability to control the game and create opportunities is something that many coaches would value, especially one with Iniesta’s background.
Ter Stegen’s inclusion is also significant, as it highlights Iniesta’s belief in the importance of having a strong goalkeeper. A reliable keeper can make a huge difference in a team’s performance, often being the last line of defence.
Ansu’s selection, though, is the most surprising. While Fati undoubtedly possesses immense talent, he has faced challenges in recent seasons, struggling to find consistent form.
