Barcelona squad’s total market value rises by over €60 million thanks to La Masia

Barcelona’s youngsters have taken Europe by storm and have struck up a formidable partnership with the veterans in the dressing room.

Together, the Catalan outfit are Europe’s most potent attacking side and arguably the most complete team this season. After all, to pull off the results they have with a long injury list is no mean feat.

As a result of the players stepping up, Barcelona has seen a significant rise in terms of squad valuation on the latest Transfermarkt update. In fact, the squad value has increased by a net of €63.6 million.

The biggest winners

Of the various players who have shown great promise this term, it is the youngsters from La Masia, who have understandably seen the most steep increases in valuation given that their initial value was low owing to their age.

Lamine Yamal, by far, is the biggest winner of the recent update as his stocks have shot up to €150 million from €120 million making him the highest-valued Spanish player in history.

Fermin Lopez, Spain’s hero at the Paris Olympics, sees his value rocket up by €20 million to €50 million while Marc Casado’s valuation has risen from just €2.5 million to €15 million.

Marc Bernal and Pau Victor, meanwhile, see their rating improve from €1 million to €5 million while Pau Cubarsi’s new valuation stands at a whopping €40 million.

Other players whose valuation has seen a bullish period include Raphinha, Jules Kounde and Pablo Torre.

While most of the squad has seen positive changes after the revised valuations, not all were as fortunate.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen who is out injured for the season and Frenkie de Jong who only recently returned to action both see their value drop. Ansu Fati, Andreas Christensen and Wojciech Szczesny are among the losers.
