Merkur puts its money on Bundesliga Table Football

October 10 – German gambling company Merkur Group has been named the main sponsor of the Table Football Bundesliga final.

This marks the latest gambling company to permeates into the football landscape, this time putting their cards literally on the table.

As part of the deal, Merkur will also support the next edition of the event as main sponsor, upgrading from its involvement in exclusively the final this time around.

The betting brand has been a mainstay in the world of table football, forging collaborations with the German table football championships since 2011 with a hint of plenty more years left in the tank.

Nils Rullkötter, Senior Manager on the Board of Management for Marketing, Communication and Politics at Merkur Group, said: “Table football offers both players and spectators a lot of emotions, pure excitement and, of course, endless fun.

“We are delighted that this great sport is becoming more and more professional and popular and that we can contribute to this through our sponsorship.”

Klaus Gottesleben, President of the German Table Football Association, added: “We have been working persistently for years to professionalise our sport. The German Bundesliga is now the strongest and most successful national league in the world.

“Without motivated partners, we would not have been able to drive this development forward. We are therefore very grateful to have Merkur as a reliable sponsor at our side.”

Merkur made headlines by signing a two-year deal with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in the summer as the brand switches to increase exposure by expanding its club football partnership portfolio in the German region.
