Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne has delivered a brutal assessment of Manchester United and Erik ten Hag following another poor start to the campaign.
The Red Devils sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table, winning just two of their opening seven matches.
Their 2024-25 campaign comes off the back of a season where they won the FA Cup, but struggled in the league under Ten Hag.
Having lost 3-0 to Tottenham at Old Trafford, they closed out the final game before the international break by drawing 0-0 at Aston Villa.
Man Utd’s Europa League campaign has also been a painful watch, most recently drawing 3-3 away to Porto despite being 2-0 up.
And Gascoigne, who was speaking to SportsCasting UK, believes the players “take the p*ss” out of their manager.
He said: “It’s like me as a player, I knew I was good. And it doesn’t matter who I was up against, or replacing, for instance, no problem.
“To follow Alex Ferguson, a few of them, even Jose Mourinho didn’t last long, David Moyes not for long.

“Ten Hag, I feel sorry for him a bit. I’d love Ferguson to take over just for one season and just see what he could do with those players because I think some of them take the p*ss out of him.
“You’ve got to give the man a bit of respect and it’s such a massive club, I don’t think some of the players realise who they’re playing for.”
No Rash decisions
Marcus Rashford has been in the spotlight as much as Ten Hag this season.
The England international has not been called up for the Three Lions for either of the breaks so far this term and has been in mixed form for his club.
Having bagged against Southampton in the Premier League, Rashford has been a bit-part player since, often sitting on the bench or starting in cup games.
