More fake news? – Newcastle ‘interested’ in signing Man Utd flop…

Sometimes you read a transfer rumour story, and you just sigh loudly. Apparently, according to caught offside, Newcastle United are interested in signing the Manchester United Brazilian flop Antony.

Caught Offside report that Man Utd are willing to let the 16-times capped international leave the club on loan or on a permanent basis in the January transfer window. They also credit his former team Ajax and Crystal Palace with an interest in him too.

The 24-year-old cost Man Utd an eye-watering £85m in August 2022 and since then he has scored a paltry five goals and provided a pathetic three assists, costing a princely £10,625,000 each goal or goal creating action. And that doesn’t even factor in his wages. A frankly shocking record, not to mention questionable accusations around his character.

Eddie Howe has a track record of improving players but honestly there is nothing to work with there. Ability aside, I also don’t see a way he fits into this dressing room and squad dynamic. it’s just a total non-starter, isn’t it? Just because Newcastle have a well known desire to sign a right winger this is another example of media creating a 2+2=5 story to bait a few outrage clicks.

More nonsense from a national online media source. Additionally, Newcastle should avoid doing Man Utd any favours in the transfer market by taking their deadwood off them. I’d rather have Miggy on the right-hand side every day of the week.
