New Liverpool signing Giorgi Mamardashvili has warned Alisson Becker that he is ready to fight for a place in the team next season.
The Reds signed the Georgian goalkeeper in the summer transfer window but allowed him to leave the club on loan to Valencia.
With Alisson Becker already at the club and his starting place confirmed in the team, any new goalkeeper would find it difficult to replace the Liverpool star.
However, Mamardashvili is determined to fight for his place in the team next season when he joins.
Despite suggestions that Alisson would consider a move away from the club at the end of the season, Mamardashvili has challenged the Brazilian that even if he stays at the club, he is about to get competition from the La Liga player.
“I was attracted by the Liverpool project when the club’s representatives met with me to sign me”, Mamardashvili was quoted as saying by El Desmarque.
“I will fight for the starting goalkeeper position, even if the current goalkeeper does not leave the team.”
