Josh Sargent’s goalscoring abilities have made him a fan favorite at Norwich City, but his distribution has certainly been on display in recent weeks.
Sargent registered his fourth assist of the EFL Championship season on Saturday as Norwich City tied Stoke City 1-1 at the Bet365 Stadium. The U.S. men’s national team forward’s contribution helped him stay on pace to set a new career-best for assists in a single season.
The Canaries struck first in the 45th minute as Ante Crnac scored for a 1-0 opener. Sargent’r original effort was blocked in the Stoke City box, but the rebound fell to Crnac who made no mistake.
However, Million Manhoef equalized for the Potters in first-half stoppage time, giving the hosts an eventual share of the spoils.
Sargent, who featured in both of the USMNT’s matches this international window, logged 90 minutes in the match. He had three shots blocked while also winning one duel.
The Canaries are seventh in the Championship table heading into a midweek clash with Preston North End on Tuesday at Deepdale. They are riding a five-match unbeaten run in league play, which has kept them in the top half of the standings.
