Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has emerged as a strong candidate to replace Erik ten Hag as the manager of Manchester United.
The Blaugrana legend has been out of a job since being sacked by the Catalans at the end of the season and could be in contention to replace the under-fire Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
However, it appears that Xavi has set a key condition to take over the reins at Manchester United.
Xavi wants Raphinha
Indeed, according to a report from Fichajes, Xavi has made one crucial demand clear to Manchester United – the signing of Barcelona captain Raphinha.
The Spanish manager has identified the Barcelona winger as a fundamental piece to strengthen the Red Devils’ attacking options, should he take on the challenge at Old Trafford.
Xavi’s interest in Raphinha is well-founded, as the Brazilian has enjoyed a spectacular start to the season under Hansi Flick at Barcelona.

With six goals and eight assists in just twelve matches, the 27-year-old has established himself as one of the Catalan club’s key figures.
Reports earlier this week indicated that Manchester City also hold an interest in the Brazilian international. And now, Xavi, if he were to replace Ten Hag at Manchester United wants the Barça fourth captain.
According to the report, Barcelona, for their part, would consider selling Raphinha, but only for offers approaching €100 million, setting a substantial price tag for any interested parties.
That claim, though, could be well off the mark considering that Raphinha has become an integral part of the Barcelona setup under Hansi Flick.
One of the most in-form players and trusted lieutenants of the German tactician, it is unlikely that Barça would consider his exit, unless there is a gigantic offer on the table.
