Both sides come into this East Midlands derby with reasons for optimism.
Leicester have won back to back Premier League games – against Bournemouth and Southampton, the latter from 2-0 down – to offer the first real indication that they can cope with life in the top flight.
Forest have lost just one Premier League game all season and sit eighth following Monday’s win over Crystal Palace at the City Ground. Another victory at the Kingpower Stadium would take Nuno Espirito Santo’s men up to the dizzy heights of fifth, for a few hours at least.
There is also the Steve Cooper factor attached to this fixture. Cooper guided Forest back into the top flight after a 23-year absence but was then sacked last December. He was taken on by Leicester over the summer.
