January 24 – Hosts Saudi Arabia, chasing a 3rd title, will face Uzbekistan, Thailand and China in Group A of the AFC U17 Asian Cup to be performed April 3-12.
The 16 certified nations have been divided into 4 teams on the draw held within the AFC’s Kuala Lumpur headquarters yesterday.
Group B will see defending champions Japan face Australia, Vietnam and United Arab Emirates whereas South Korea will meet Yemen, Afghanistan and Indonesia in Group C.
High seeds Iran have been drawn towards Tajikistan, Oman and North Korea in Group D.
The highest two groups from every group will qualify for the knockout rounds, in addition to slots on the expanded 48-team U-17 World Cup to be performed in Qatar later this 12 months.
