Israeli high tier sport deserted over safety fears, and it wasn’t the Palestinians

January 29 – A top-flight Israeli sport was deserted at halftime for safety causes after followers threw flares at gamers and rushed onto the sphere.

Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv had been tied at 1-1 on Monday night after a primary half interrupted by fireworks being thrown from a piece of dwelling followers and practically hitting gamers.

Maccabi Tel Aviv equalised with a penalty kick scored within the fifteenth minute of stoppage time added on the finish of the half after which the match was deserted.

“After a dialogue within the dressing room between the native police commander, the match delegate, the referee and representatives of each golf equipment, the police determined to desert the match in worry of security for the gamers and followers,” Maccabi mentioned in a press release.

Israeli media reported that sports activities minister Miki Zohar had requested police to cease the sport.

“There is no such thing as a level in holding such a sporting occasion amidst this insupportable violence,” Zohar was quoted saying in reviews.
