After failing to purchase Manchester United last year, Qatari financier Sheikh Jassim may have another opportunity to invest in a major Premier League team after an announcement by Tottenham.
For much of 2023, he was the primary candidate who everyone believed would take over at Old Trafford.
However, the Glazer family then changed their minds and allowed Sir Jim Ratcliffe to acquire a 25% share of the team rather than selling the entire 100%.
Thus, Sheikh Jassim’s massive £5 billion bid to acquire the team was rejected.
Tottenham could provide second chance to the billionaire
The billionaire could now get another opportunity in invest in a Premier League team.
According to the Express, the man in charge of Tottenham, Daniel Levy, has expressed Tottenham’s desire of getting a new investor in the club.
Spurs revealed their record-breaking 2022–2023 fiscal year results. At their new stadium, the club’s revenue surpassed half a billion pounds for the first time ever.
It increased by 24% from previous year’s £444 million to £549.6 million.
Daniel Levy is seeking investment at Tottenham.

Levy said, as quoted by the Express: “To capitalise on our long-term potential, to continue to invest in the teams and undertake future capital projects, the club requires a significant increase in its equity base. The board and its advisors, Rothschild and Co, are in discussions with prospective investors.”
Levy did, however, added that no deals will be made without the consent of club personnel, indicating that this won’t be a quick procedure.
Tottenham could get much needed cash injection
Sheikh Jassim will undoubtedly be aware of this development, given he has already stated his intention to invest in a Premier League team.
The Qatari billionaire has a chance to invest in Tottenham now and the opportunity could provide him the platform to prove the Glazers wrong.
