Fabian Schar tells media that Newcastle have got it wrong on hamstring injury

Earlier today, Eddie Howe told the media that Fabian Schar would looks set to miss our final four games of the season after suffering a hamstring injury.

Since then, new quotes have emerged from Schar, who tells VERY different story during an interview with the Swiss media, insisting he is ‘fully expecting’ to play against this season as the injury is ‘not that bad.’

Speaking to Blick, he said: “In my opinion it’s not that bad and I’m fully expecting to play for Newcastle this season. Accordingly, I have no worries at all when it comes to the European Championships.”

It’s clear he’ll miss tomorrow’s trip to Burnley, but hopefully he’s right and last Saturday’s 5-1 win won’t be the last time we’ve seen Schar this season, with big games against Brighton, Man Utd and Brentford still to come.
