In such a tight Premier League title race, Arsenal can’t afford to drop vital points, especially at home, so they’ll be hoping to claim all three versus Bournemouth in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.
The Cherries don’t have much to play for as they are sitting comfortably in 10th, but that means they could play with a freedom at the Emirates.
Current Form
Arsenal’s current form
In the middle of April, Arsenal lost two games in a row against Aston Villa in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the Champions League which threatened to derail their season completely.
Since then, they have won three games in a row and in very stylish fashion, defeating Wolves 2-0, Chelsea 5-0 and Tottenham 3-2 in the North London Derby.
Bournemouth’s current form
Like Arsenal, Bournemouth have recovered from a sketchy bit of form to win consecutive games in a row. Two losses against Aston Villa and Luton and a draw against Man Utd were followed by impressive victories against Wolves and Brighton.
They’ve kept clean sheets in their last two games and scored four goals.
Mikel Arteta has nearly a fully fit squad as we enter the final games of the season.
The only fitness concern is with regards to Jurrien Timber, who has yet to appear in the Premier League since his return from an ACL injury. He has played games with the reserves and will feature before the end of the campaign, so actually might make the matchday squad.
For Bournemouth, Chris Mepham, Romain Faivre, Luis Sinisterra, Marcus Tavernier and Ryan Fredericks are all injured, while Milos Kerkez is suspended, while Antoine Semenyo left the stadium on a stretcher last weekend and could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Arsenal fans are still in awe of that awesome performance from Martin Odegaard against Chelsea a couple of weeks ago and he’ll be looking to replicate something similar here.
Dominic Solanke is running out of games to catch the leaders in the Golden Boot race, but to be in the conversation is still mighty…
