Few players are considered non-transferable in the current Barcelona squad. Only Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal, Gavi and Pedri have that status.
The Blaugrana would listen to offers for most of the rest, although there are players who count for both the coaching staff and the sporting management and it is most likely that they will continue to play for Barça next season.
This is the case of Andreas Christensen, according to SPORT, with the defender having earned the right to stay due to his commitment and good performance.
Xavi and Barcelona value Christensen
It is true that Christensen’s exit in the form of a transfer would leave Barcelona with a significant profit, as he arrived in 2022 from Chelsea on a free transfer.
But Xavi and his coaches value the Dane’s contribution in the two seasons he has been with the club, especially in this current campaign in which he has had to change position and adapt to the pivot midfield role.

Xavi opted for Christensen as a defensive midfielder in February after the debacle against Villarreal. The Barça boss had lost confidence in Oriol Romeu and wanted to play Ilkay Gundogan higher up the pitch, prompting the decision.
The ex-Chelsea man has taken to the role well, growing in stature with each passing game while also developing himself as a threat in the opposition box with his forward forays.
Xavi values Christensen’s commitment and, despite his ongoing Achilles problems, which prevent him from finishing games, he wants to keep the 28-year-old in the squad next season.
The manager is clear that he wants Christensen back in the centre-back position. But he knows that he will always be able to call on the Denmark international if he needs him in a midfield that needs to be reinforced this summer.
