Newcastle United will be one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window.
The Magpies, currently sit in sixth position in the Premier League, having endured a difficult season after suffering an injury crisis.
Eddie Howe’s men failed to replicate the success of last season when they finished in the top four of the Premier League.
This season, they can finish in the European places in the league but they would miss the charm of playing in Europe’s elite competition.
Regarding the future of their players, they have tough decisions to make ahead of the transfer window.
One player who faces an uncertain future at the club is striker Callum Wilson.
The former Bournemouth striker was on the verge of leaving the club in January as Newcastle looked desperate to raise funds.
However, his exit could finally take place this summer as the Premier League club look desperate to balance their finances.
Journalist Chris Waugh has shared his verdict on the future of Wilson at St. James’ Park.
Waugh was asked if he believed Newcastle would sell Wilson this summer during a Q&A session for the Athletic.
“My gut instinct for the past few months has been that Callum Wilson may well leave this summer,” he wrote.
“It feels like a natural juncture for the two to part ways and it is the final opportunity for Newcastle to get a decent fee for a 32-year-old who has had repeated injury problems and is heading into the final year of his deal.
