Barcelona’s signing of Vitor Roque was accompanied by high hopes and anticipation, with the club shelling out a hefty fee of around €61 million (including add-ons) to acquire the Brazilian’s services.
Despite his high ceiling, Roque has been continuously sidelined and has not had any meaningful playing time on the field this season.
In addition to impeding Roque’s growth, this lack of opportunity has raised doubts about his long-term continuity with the Catalan giants.
And according to prior reports, Barça have chosen to place Roque for sale on the transfer market during the upcoming summer window.
Inter Milan enter the pursuit
Now, as per Gazzetta dello Sport, Vitor Roque is Inter Milan’s latest idea to reinforce their attack.
The recently crowned Serie A winners are in the market for a new striker, with Marko Arnautovic possibly on his way out.
As such, the arrival of Roque appeals to the club, whose profile as a runner and exploiter of space coincides with Inter’s playing style.

It remains to be seen if the Nerazzurri opt to sign him on loan or make a permanent purchase, but they will likely encounter competition from other teams as well.
Prior to his move to Barcelona, the Brazilian was a man in demand, and that interest is bound to be revived in light of the current situation.
In fact, reports have argued that conversations between FC Porto and Barcelona are taking place over the signing of Roque.
Xavi explains Roque’s minimal game time
One of the primary reasons an exit for Roque appears imminent is the lack of faith Xavi has shown in him.
Simply claiming that the youngster still has a long way to go before being deemed a finished product, Xavi said:
“Vitor Roque is a young player, but he needs to improve to compete against very high-level footballers.”
