What went wrong for Flick in Germany?
Despite winning a whopping seven trophies with Bayern Munich in a largely brief tenure, the 59-year-old failed to emulate his success internationally.
Primarily, Flick frequently altered his formation, tweaked his tactics, experimented with different personnel, and generally overcomplicated everything.
Considering national team managers cannot take a hands-on approach with their players due to the limited time they have with them, Flick struggled to formulate an ideal blueprint.
