Yankuba Minteh responded to rumours surrounding his Newcastle United future with another goal for Gambia on Saturday afternoon.
After The Telegraph and Sky Sports revealed that Toon chiefs are ‘reluctantly considering’ any bids in the region of £40m for the winger to help us comply with PSR, the 19-year-old scored in Gambia’s 5-1 win over Seychelles in a qualifier for the 2026 World Cup.
This comes after his 11-goal season at Feyenoord and follows claims that Liverpool are eyeing up a move alongside unnamed clubs in Germany and Italy. Watch the goal below:

Poor goalkeeping at the near post, but it’s another goal for the teenager as he looks to help his country qualify for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Speaking about his future in a previous interview with the Dutch media, Minteh said: “Ultimately, the Premier League is my goal and Newcastle is the club that has a lot of confidence in me. I will let everything happen and one day I will be playing in the Premier League.”
Asked about his loan spell at Feyenoord last month, Eddie Howe added: “I have been keeping a very close eye on him. I think he has done really well and attacked the challenge of going alone, new league, new team-mates and has played in the Champions League. I think he has done really well this year and he can be proud of his efforts. The plan at the moment is that he will come back to us in pre-season and we will take it from there.”
