Multiple Turkish Super Lig clubs were previously interested in American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers earlier this spring and one continues to be heading into the summer.
Besiktas is interested in the U.S. men’s national team centerback, a source close to the player confirmed to SBI. However, Carter-Vickers remains happy with his current role at Celtic, with his contract set to run until May 2029.
West Ham United and Ipswich Town have also reportedly expressed interest in the American defender, per reports.
Carter-Vickers, 26, is currently with the USMNT ahead of the 2024 Copa America tournament. The Americans open group stage play on Sunday, June 23 against Bolivia.
Carter-Vickers is coming off his third SPFL title success with Celtic this past season. Carter-Vickers made 31 combined appearances in Brendan Rodgers’ squad, while also lifting the Scottish Cup for a second time in his career.
After originally joining Celtic on loan during the 2021-22 campaign, Carter-Vickers has featured in 115 matches for the Scottish giants, winning seven trophies. He previously featured for seven clubs in England including Tottenham, Swansea City, Sheffield United, and Luton Town.
Besiktas took a major dip in 2023-24, finishing sixth in the Super Lig standings. They will be part of the UEFA Europa League playoffs later this summer while Celtic enters the UEFA Champions League group stage in September.
