France head into their mouthwatering Euro 2024 round of 16 clash against Belgium with plenty of questions to answer after an underwhelming group phase.

Didier Deschamps’ side won just one of their three games and looked disjointed for large periods. Antoine Griezmann, the star of so many of France’s successes over the last decade, is out of sorts while Kylian Mbappe is fit but lacking a clear position in the starting XI.

Their performances have attracted widespread criticism at home and Dechamps will be looking for a statement win to get Les Bleus’ campaign back on track.

Belgium have also struggled to get going in Germany. Like France, they won just one of their games in the group phase, a 2-0 defeat of Romania.

They still possess great quality with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku and France midfielder Eduardo Camavinga insists they won’t be underestimated.

“They’re a top nation with great players,” he said. “Once the group stage is over, it’s in the past, just as it is for us. Mentally, they’ll be different. They’re still a side who can surprise you at any moment.”
