July 12 – The FA wants Gareth Southgate to stay on as England manager even if the team lose the Euro 2024 final against Spain on Sunday.
Southgate has been subject to widespread criticism for his negative playing style – feedback which has been been muted by the Three Lions’ route to their second consecutive Euros final.
USA have placed ex-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at the top of their wishlist to replace Gregg Berhalter, but the German has insisted he is not interested in the USA role and would like a break from management.
Saudi are set for another window of heavy spending, this time eyeing up Aston Villa’s 25-year-old France winger Moussa Diaby and Manchester United’s Brazilian veteran Casemiro, with the duo strongly linked to Al-Ittihad.
Paris St-Germain have offered €70 million for Portugal international midfielder Joao Neves compared to Manchester United’s €60 million but Benfica want a fee closer to the 19-year-old’s €120 million release clause. The 19-year-old has become one of the biggest midfield prospects since assuming a spot in Benfica’s first team following the departure of Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea 18 months ago, with Manchester United linked with the player across the last two windows.
Crystal Palace are reportedly determined not to sell 26-year-old England winger Eberechi Eze to Tottenham or Manchester United, as the player could look to follow ex-teammate Michael Olise out of the club. Despite Palace’s no-sell stance, Eze’s performances have earned him plenty of admirers who are more than capable of matching his €55 million Transfermarkt valuation.
Eze was a core part of Oliver Glasner’s revitalised Crystal Palace setup towards the end of the season, which has already lost its crown jewel when Olise departed for FC Bayern earlier this week.
Arsenal’s offer for Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori is €40 million plus €10 million in add-ons but Bologna want €50 million plus a percentage of any future…
