Following a relatively uneventful loan spell at Girona, Pablo Torre returned to Barcelona earlier in the summer with very little hope of making an impact.
But fast forward to the present day, the young midfield prodigy has made a sizable impact in Barcelona’s pre-season campaign in the United States.
Torre made a mark with his performances in friendlies against Manchester City and Real Madrid, which has gone a long way in changing the club’s outlook on the midfielder.
Torre optimistic about working under Flick
According to Diario SPORT, the arrival of Hansi Flick as Barcelona’s head coach has been a game-changer for Torre.
While his future at the club is still uncertain, the young midfielder is increasingly optimistic due to the confidence Flick has shown in him.

Flick’s trust in Torre is evident from set pieces. The midfielder from Soto de la Marina has been given responsibilities for free-kicks and corners, including one that nearly resulted in a goal in a recent match against Real Madrid, forcing Courtois to make an impressive save.
What Torre needed was a tactical setup that valued a playmaker, and under Flick, he has found just that.

As Barcelona continues its pre-season, Pablo Torre’s performances are building a strong case for a more integral role in the squad.
If he keeps impressing under Hansi Flick, Torre could soon become a pivotal part of Barcelona’s midfield, fulfilling the potential the club always knew he had.
The former Racing Club prodigy must specifically make an impact in the early parts of the campaign, knowing the midfield trifecta of Gavi, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri are still nursing from injuries.
