Slowly but surely, Hansi Flick is fully imposing his authority in the Barcelona dressing room and the most visible impact of it can be seen in the way the team is training this summer.
The German tactician started Barcelona’s pre-season campaign with rigorous training sessions, in order to better equip players with the high-intensity game he professes.
Hansi Flick’s strict measures in Barcelona training
A recent report from AS has offered detailed insights on the measures taken by Flick so far, in his bid to revolutionise the training regime at Barcelona.
It appears the German coach is determined to instil a culture of discipline and professionalism within the squad.
Punctuality is paramount in Flick’s world. Players are expected to arrive at training an hour early, with any breaches met with the collective disapproval of teammates rather than formal sanctions.

Physicality is another key area of focus. Flick has brought in a dedicated team of experts to oversee the players’ physical preparation, including daily weigh-ins and orthodontic checks.
The level of control over players’ physical condition has not been seen before at Barcelona since Luis Enrique’s time in charge of the Catalans.
Flick himself is working on himself every day. The language barrier presents a challenge for the German, but he is actively seeking to improve communication with his players.
With the help of key figures like Thiago Alcantara and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, he is working to ensure his message is clear and understood.
This positive approach has resulted in strong pre-season performances from the Barcelona team, including a narrow win over rivals Real Madrid.
Barcelona fans will now be hoping that the team can replicate these performances when the new season starts in less than two weeks.
