Newcastle linked with Senegal star and right-winger tipped to sign elsewhere

According to reports in Italy, Newcastle United have shown interest in Senegalese striker Boulaye Dia, while Serie A side Atalanta have been tipped to sign Toon target Nicolas Gonzalez.

Starting with Dia, Italian outlet Il Mattino are reporting that Newcastle are one of four Premier League sides taking a look at the Salernitana forward who looks set to leave this summer following their relegation from Serie A.

It’s claimed Newcastle, West Ham, Everton and Brentford are all keen on the 27-year-old, who has bagged 20 goals and six assists in his 50 appearances in the Italian top flight.

The Athletic confirmed our interest in the Fiorentina right-winger this week, with this coming after reports in Italy suggested we’d launched an opening bid for the 26-year-old two weeks ago.
